The Unites States Department of Education provided Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) to colleges and universities for institutional aid as well as emergency student aid through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) funds, Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSSA) funds, and American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds.
The purpose of the awards were to cover any costs associated with significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus and to provide emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus and, to ensure learning continued during the COVID-19 pandemic.
King’s College received monies under these Acts and has distributed the emergency financial aid grants to students in a way that prioritized students with the greatest demonstrated need while ensuring the funds are distributed as widely as possible.
