Counseling Center for Students
Visiting the Center
Your First Visit
All students are asked to fill out initial paperwork before your first appointment, which is sent to you in your appointment reminder email. This is done through our secure online student portal. This allows your counselor to review your concerns prior to your session. The portal link will be sent to you in your appointment reminder email.
During the first meeting, we will review your presenting concerns and history of any struggles. We will work together to determine if you will need ongoing support or just two to three brief solution focused sessions. If your needs are highly specialized and beyond the scope of our Center, we will work with you to identify appropriate and qualified off campus support.
Regularly Scheduled Sessions
Sessions are typically 45 minutes long and are scheduled on a bi-weekly basis. During your sessions, we will work together to determine goals to help you resolve presenting issues and focus on learning and implementing effective coping strategies.
Emergency/Crisis Services
Regular Office Hours (All Students)
